What Does It Mean to Be a Global Workforce?

Ever since the internet and global connectivity became part of everyday life, global workforces have also increasingly become the norm. In the 1980s and 1990s, companies started hiring internationally. The 2010s and 2020s, in particular, accelerated the global remote-first setup.

But we think a global workforce is more than having team members in multiple countries. A genuine global team puts a global perspective at the center of its operations. That means honoring the cultural differences and practices of each region and recognizing the unique skill each global team member brings to the table.

That’s something we’ve been proud to do at Cinepros. Being in the captioning, translations, and subtitling industry, globalization isn’t part of the business, it is the business.

We’re fortunate and proud to work with team members in Greece, Uganda, Argentina, and the Philippines, to name just a few, as well as over 100 translators fluent in English and in their native languages, from Arabic to Zulu.

"For me, being part of a global team is a privilege. Everyone brings something unique to the team in the way they approach their work. This diversity is a huge advantage, especially in our industry, because we have people that can apply the relevant linguistic and cultural experiences when it comes to things like translation and localization for different language projects."

Being based in Maryland, USA gives us a thorough understanding of the solutions our clients need, be it captioning, translations, or audio descriptions. But having a team around the world gives us more context and understanding of the nuances in each language for accurate, intelligent translations that get to the heart of each piece of content.

And we’re proud to have worked with titles from Disney+, ESPN, and National Geographic to name a few, as well as dozens of independent creative and production studios.
