About the client

Allstate Insurance provides insurance for homes, vehicles, and identity and phone protection. Headquartered in Glenview, Illinois, it has clients all over the United States and is consistently a Fortune 500 company.

The challenge

Allstate Insurance was dealing with a traffic incident involving body cam footage from a police officer that needed subtitling.

The problem: the audio featured overlapping English and Spanish speakers in the middle of a busy highway with plenty of traffic — not something easily transcribed with AI tools, especially with a legal matter at hand. 

Our solutions

Fully subtitling the bodycam footage for the legal case required transcription, translation, and subtitling. 

First, our audio transcription team transcribed the full video, including both English and Spanish dialogue. 

Then, our transcribers worked directly with our translation team to provide two transcripts: one in English, and one in Spanish, working closely with the Allstate Insurance team to ensure names of streets and people were spelled correctly. 

Finally, our subtitlers burned the translated transcriptions directly onto the body cam footage. The newly subtitled video was eventually used in legal proceedings and helped bring the case to a resolution.
