Translating Regional Arabic and Turkish Dialects for National Geographic

Services: Audio Transcription, Translation
About the client
National Geographic is one of the most recognizable publications in the world and a leading authority in geography and natural science. It has a presence across print, digital, and broadcast media.
The challenge
National Geographic Magazine was writing a cover story about modern people who choose to live in caves like their ancestors.
We received hours of audio interviews in regional Arabic and Turkish dialects recorded in a natural environment with limited audio equipment.
Our solutions
We onboarded regional Turkish and Arabic translators who not only translated local dialects in English, but also captured the nuance of these peoples' cultures in the translation.
Portions of the translations appeared in the National Geographic's August 2025 issue.
